HP 2133 Mini-Note Vista Performance Review

yes, ive been considering xp pro, but vistas been recently starting to grow on me, and i feel safer using it because of more support.

Actually I decided to only use Vista for the past month and actually like it...Crazy I know... Make sure you put SP1 on there though.

Which would you suggest, the Vista or XP?????

dude ista doestn suk, ive been havin vista for bout 1.5 yrs and its been great. it hasnt crashed, it runs fast with 3 gigs of ram, and buddy wtf r u thinkin of using an OS with IE??? i mean internet explorer suckls not due to vista, but b/c it sucks in its own way. use fuckin firefox or safari. i hate u fags who bag on vista, well im a happy customer and i havnt had ay probs with it. =)

you need to drop vista and put xp or linux on there mine is a 1.2ghz 2gb mem ver and xp is zippy!

Vista on that HP2133...LOL...what a complete joke... 10 sek to open IE...LOL..is that a 386 system?? LOL....Youtube slows its down..LOL... man get real and dont bullshit us, it sucks with Vista...not to bad... An EEE PC running Linux boots faster than that thing opens a simple IE window... what a joke...

You can't use clock speed as a comparison for different types of processors...

That's pretty nasty performance for a 1.6ghz computer. Looks about the same as my old 800Mhz Transmeta tablet pc does with XP. I hope they do an Intel version of this.

If you get Vista Business you can downgrade for free. install xp using a friend's disc and key. When you activate, choose Activate by Phone and call Microsoft. Tell them you're downgrading and they'll give you a new key

Yeah, all flash video drops frames in Vista. Supposedly it's better in XP, but I haven't tried. I'm not sure about Ubuntu, so I'll give that a shot tonight. I do have Ubuntu installed, but I couldn't get teh wireless drivers working though. Since I'm going to be reformating and installing XP I didn't want to waste a whole lot of time on it for now. I will be installing Ubuntu again though. It sounds like there are a lot of issues with SLED on there. They didn't really configure things right. Most people are switching to XP or Ubuntu from what I've read.

Someone said YouTube is a bit laggy on the 2133. Is that true? Even without the preloaded crapware?

it's the camera focusing, i've confirmed it filming my tv and moving around. if i put my ear close to it I can hear it making the noise.
