yes, in itunes, click the summery tab, then click enable disk use (this makes your ipod a big flash drive. you can still listen to music ^^) then click my computer, and click your ipod. then extract (or drag) the word document in the notes folder i believe. correct me if im wrong =/

check you're setting to see if it's set to you're repective TV standard and also playback options (i think it's under playback, you will want to set it so it always is on TV) check you're manual

works with the headphone socket, you don't really need a dock for it to work. There are many 3rd party docks, which come with their own remotes and have neat features like on screen controls (you don't get that with the ordinary iPod dock...

Needing a 'special cable' isn't strictly true... any AV cable with a 3.5mm jack (one like a headphone) will work, but you have to switch the video (yellow) and the right channel audio (red) Usually you get these types of cables with some camcorders, but you can get for about £5. Much better i think than spending £35 on an iPod AV cable
