sych:"It is a tragedy that this man is not taken seriously. Dennis Kucinich is one of the smartest people in the US Congress" The "I see aliens" claim really endeared the American people to him. Smartest thing he ever said...
It is a tragedy that this man is not taken seriously. Dennis Kucinich is one of the smartest people in the US Congress. I hope that he runs again in the primaries in 2012 and actually get the nomination...
The reason Hawaii's Keiki Care failed: The state could no longer afford the plan. Up to 60 percent of the enrollees had dropped private coverage for "free" care, an unavoidable facet of government involvement in healthcare. The end results of government involvement are the rationing of care. People in public health programs perceive the care as free, and so they use them prolifically for every twinge and ache, swamping the system. - AP
(cont)Children are the responsibility of their parents. Sure, a small percentage of parents had a good job and it went away and they could not find another good job. If that is the case, they should qualify for existing programs that are out there. We do not need more programs. BTW: You need to look into the UHC that Hawaii just decided to scrap (Keiki Care for kids)because it cost too much and failed.
nist:"You don't mind society taking on the responsibility of the disabled who are no more at fault than those kids. In fact they might have gotten disabled due to their own carelessness" Those are not the disabled I am talking about. People who were BORN disabled with things like Cerebral Palsey are the ones I am saying we should take societal responsibility for, not those who became disabled because of their own stupidity.
nist:" those are salaried union government employees" Yes, those salaried employees do not add anything to the service or quality but instead add extra layers of bureaucracy to an already expensive system. You speak of Government programs as if they are cost effective and save money, but they instead add hidden costs in the added layers of stupidity inherant in bureaucratic agency structures.
nist:"You're an idiot" You call me an idiot, but this is how you argue. Not with facts, but with name calling. You were done a long time ago when you ran out of anything substantitive to say for your side. I guess all you have is personal attacks, which do nothing to make you appear any more educated. Thanks for playing.
"I guess you find humor in things you do not understand..." It's true I don't understand your twisted logic and when you completely contradict yourself (not to mention reality) I can't help but laugh out loud. I've probably had more school than you (and it shows) all you have is a pseudo-intellectual I-can-use-google half-knowledge of things. You can throw out some acronyms and try to sound smart but you don't fool me. You're an idiot. I'm done trying to educate you. What a waste of time.
"Why do people have children when they can not afford to support them?" What if they COULD support them, then their job got outsourced to China? I guess the kid should shove himself back up in the womb until the parents find another decent job with benefits? You don't mind society taking on the responsibility of the disabled who are no more at fault than those kids. In fact they might have gotten disabled due to their own carelessness. You have no sense of logic at all.
"Negligible? Do you know that top executive employees are dedicated solely...bla bla bla" YES NEGLIGABLE! Those programs are in place for ALL government agencies --with or without Medicare --so Medicare's contribution to their overall cost is just a tiny portion. And those "Top executives?" LOL those are salaried union government employees none of whom make even 1 million let alone 1.7 BILLION like Bill McGuire of United Health. 1.7 BILLION is a heckuva "Fiscal Impact.." wouldn't you say?
nist:"I guess I AM a doof!" Okay... I have no argument there. We totally agree 100%.
nist:"they add to the cost in a negligible way" Negligible? Do you know that top executive employees are dedicated solely to oversee those programs, and high level managers are dedicated to manage fleets of dedicated employees to keep those programs going? People who's only job is to design, implement, and maintain those bureaucractic programs that add levels of waste and cost to the system? Do you understand the fiscal impact of the salaries alone? Apparently not.
nist:"how old do I gotta be?" I do not think age is going to fix your ignorance. Only school would do that, but you stike me as someone who expects knowledge to come to you, and you have no reason to exert any effort. It is not YOUR reponsibility to aquire knowledge, knowledge has to aquire you.
nist:"What if the kid doesn't have parents who can afford it?" Why do people have children when they can not afford to support them? It is not about finger pointing, it is about personal responsibility. Do not have kids if you can not take care of them, and then expect the rest of society to take on your responsibility.
That makes you an expert then. The rest of us who have lived a lot longer don't know anything...right? Haha Geez I'm 39 how old do I gotta be? Get offa my lawn you kids! It's been nice arguing with you. Jefferson said "I never yet saw an instance of one of two disputants convincing the other by argument..." Hopefully we'll see soon enough if a new health care system works or not because for too many, this one doesn't. Take care.
"Disabled people need help, because they often do not have parents to help them anymore. Kids are their parents responsibility, not societies." What if the kid doesn't have parents who can afford it? Just EXACTLY like the disabled adult, they through no fault of their own need help. If they need medication to live, you'd just let them die? And you call anybody "Heartless?" If the kids need medicine, It doesn't matter much at whom you point your finger and say "they're responsible."
"Do you know what QMS is? SMS? ISO? EEO?" My wife has been an accountant for several state agencies for years. Those are quality management and employment standards that apply to all government agencies and for a single institution, they add to the cost in a negligible way. It doesn't bring it up to no 15-30%. No way no how. You could double the overhead and it still isn't dollar-for-dollar half what the for-profit system is taking out of our pockets. Really good try though.
nist:"I guess I AM a doof!" Okay... I have no argument there. We totally agree 100%.
nist:"You know anybody who has his OWN UNIQUE health insurance company?" No. I never said I did. I guess you find humor in things you do not understand. Personally, I do not think any of this is humorous.
nist:"Those magical mystical "hidden costs" no one but you sees" Other people see them...just not you...because you do not have any idea what to look for. Do you know what QMS is? SMS? ISO? EEO? Do you know how things like that impact the costs of programs in the Federal Government? Each layer of bureaucrisy adds to the cost, but that does not show up on balance sheets, because Government accounting is not like real accounting. But how would you know that?
nist:" I was just throwing YOUR OWN WORDS back at you" Trying to yes, but just showing your ignorance in the process. Disabled people need help, because they often do not have parents to help them anymore. Kids are their parents responsibility, not societies.
nist:"I've lived through 3 Republican administrations" That makes you an expert then. The rest of us who have lived a lot longer don't know anything...right? Kids always think they know more...even though we have been here longer.
nist:"Yes wage earners --particularly the top 1% have investment income" Okay...yes...they have other forms of income, but the stats are based on their wages...being wage earners..that is why they distinguish the term "Wage Earner". I guess I have to type really slow so you can understand the basic terms.
"You are fooled by hidden costs. You know nothing about Government." OOOOH I see. Those magical mystical "hidden costs" no one but you sees. I mean the Full budget of any non-DOD government agency is a matter of public record by law, but you know something apparently NOBODY ELSE does. Where are they hidden? With the WMDs maybe? LOL. If you want to play that game, what about the "Hidden Benefits?" they far outweigh the "hidden costs!" you know... heheh!
Most higher-end wage earners are also investors if you can wrap your mind around that level of complexity. Yes wage earners --particularly the top 1% have investment income also that they DO pay taxes on. And will continue to pay taxes on after they retire. Do you think the top 1% of wage earners is going to rely completely on social security for their income?
