how was it a "confederate Air Force B-25"? i didn't know they had those during the civil war, its amazing they lost with that technology.
?????????
Nice. Ultimate prop. Warbirds
Glad to hear its still flying and respected. I always thought the name Big Ass Bird was a great name cause them 47's were DAMN BIG!! Thanks for the comment
Actually, that is John Davidson, now a UPS pilot, flying the P-47. The T-28 was shooting for a local TV station and was flown by Mr. Osborn's son Colin. The Thunderbolt was sold because the guy flying the P-51 didn't like radials (tells you all you need to know about him) and then the collection went down hill fast. Thankfully though, it went to Lone Star (now painted as Tar Heel Hal)where it gets the respect it always deserved.

Taken during the second aviation heritage airshow at JVY airport, Jeffersonville,In. 1994. I worked for the owner of those two fighters, Mr. Charles Osborne, as an A&P mech. He is flying the Jug, Big Ass Bird 2 and Brad Hood is flyin the mustang, Hurry Home Honey.
Looks like they were flying nearby Bradly Airfield in Connecticut...my old home.
Beautiful...simply beautiful. Too many "kids" posting aircraft vids here with stupid music. It's refreshing to hear the engines for once!
ohh man i love the P-51 beautiful aircraft
hey i was wondering, how was life like in a b-25? smooth or hard?
they're beautiful and rare too!!
definately, flying is so great
I don't think so this air show was in Kentucky. I do not know who the owner of the fighter/trainers was.
T-28 Trojan - Navy advanced trainer used in the 50's 60's and probably allot later. Of course the P-51 Mustang and the P-47 Thunderbolt. And the B25-j Mitchel "Show-Me" based out of St. Louis MO. Commemorative Air Force.
Isn't it great to have no music or speech on this ..just listening to the sound of these wonderful aircraft and watching the ground pass underneath for over nine minutes...thanks to the genius who posted this superb footage. absolutely wonderful!Aviation 'Nuts' will agree I'm sure.
but anyhow....great video of great planes...I like the P 47 and the P 51...the P38...hm I dont know....Antoine de Saint-Exupéry died in one....either he was a bad pilot ( I doubt that) or the aircraft had a malfuntion...what does not talk "pro" for the P 38
the Hawker was sent after the bombers...the Spitfires dealed with the escort(sevice). Its normal that the elite-fighter oppposed the elite fighters of Germany....so its politics all the way....shooting down a bomber wasnt as brave as shooting down an escort plane trying to defend the bomber....but if the bomber came through civilian deaths where the casulties.....so blame the others...
couldn't have put it better my self
I could believe that..Hurricanes shot down more german aircraft in the Battle of Britain than Spitfires did...The Spit just caught the publics imagination because it was so beautiful....as was the Mustang.
Love aviation. The p51, 47,and 38 are definately the aviators version of automobile muscle cars. Lethal, fast, fun, and B,E,A,UTIFUL.
thats becuz the p-47 was out longer and had for fight time
if i'm not mistaken the p-47 shot down more enemy aircraft than the p-51
no I hadn't, it's amizing some of the technolegy that were incorporated into WW2 aircraft engines thats just recently finding it's way into "high tech" race cars
you are right and I am wrong....I checked and it was a single overhead cam......have you heard that because they didn't know of the effect of Ethyl Lead that some engines were water injected to prevent 'Pre ignition'have you heard of this?
