Description: This was SpaceX's (http://www.spacex.com) first attempt at launching a rocket. Elon Musk started this company up after he sold paypal. He's trying to make getting to space much cheaper. Unfortunately, this rocket launch failed. This shows much of video feed from the rocket as it is ascending.

Spacex....space sex...awsome...name :-/
Getting into orbit is not easy by any stretch and they are doing better then the Russian,NASA, and the Chinese did at first. Spacex has shown that their vehicle has fairly benign failure modes none have exploded in the manner a sealaunch Zenit did once. This should make man rating F-9 much easier since you can feel safe that most failures are easy to escape from. None of the three failures would have likely been a loss of crew event with Dragon and F9 just a loss of mission event.
This first failure was do to an extremely unlucky failure in that a nut on the igniter's fuel lines corroded causing a leak which caused a fire that took out the helium lines causing the engine to shut down The other two where due to staging issues second one fuel slosh coupling with an oscillation in the control logic and a messy separation. The third separation was clean but the first stage had more residual thrust then what was seen in ground tests and recontacted the second stage.
No, this is the first flight. The third flight contained the ashes, but also failed to reach orbit. I think it reached about 250 km or so and was close to orbital velocity. They had staging problems on 2 and 3. All things considering, this company is doing very well. Getting into orbit is not trivial.
Now, is this the one that was supposed to carry Gordon Coopers ashes, one of the actors from Star Trek and about 101 other peoples ashes into space. I believe this is the capsule that landed in some mountains and they couldn't retrieve the ashes until bad whether passed? And I read that they tried again on the second launch and it failed again and the ashes were lost?
The tent got owned.
at least he's doing a good job on cheaper countdowns and countups (although I never heard of countups)
the guy's voice was funny at the end of the clip
orbit
so wut is the falcon trying to achieve?
do they actually have any footage from outside looking up?
I like the blanket flapping in the wind. It is so funny.
The Minuteman delay may not be a bad thing for Elon and Co.. It gives them time to work out their checklists some more.
Damn, Remember watching that live. Apparently the Payload actually crashed back through the roof of the place they assembled the rocket! Wish they didn't have to fight the US government for the launch site all the time, bloody minuteman test.
ond
I can't see crap
nice
Thanks for putting this up. I tryed to see this at the SpaceX website but I couldn't
