DSGADUI, you didnt read my comment correctly.. i said i wouldnt prefer neither.. i wanst comparing them. but yes i already know that. the main subkect matter was the sequential boxes vs true manual. i dont like DSG or SMG or automatic.. i have my car for almost a year now and i am glad i have a true manual car. yes those boxes like DSG are more accurate then humans.. again read my comment i already explained this. your comment as a reply to mine just doesnt relate to what i was talking about.

The bmw smg is about 10 steps behind the dsg.

Iv'e seen it, from a pure performance standpoint its better and more convenient, manual is pure old fashioned fun but for a daily driver/commuter id rather have auto

your logic is so twisted lol... you are right... they allow more people who dont "feel like driving" a standard transmission... doesnt mean they can't, its just much more convenient and now much quicker... one can see it as taking away from driving experience... or one can see it as adding to the experience since it'll pull more portential from your car than you could... also most f1 teams really only adapted this system in 1993

hah. those "twinclutch" boxes are only put in those "supercars" to allow more people who dont feel like driving a standard transmission to be able to purcahse lambos, ferrari's and whatnot, and common sensewise, do you know how long F1 cars have used a sequential transmission. as far as im concerned ive never seen an F1 with a standard h-shift transmission.

F1 switched over to what you call tiptronic... i guess those drivers lack the skill... your acting like driving a manual is so tough and only for the truly gifted

to me dsg is like tiptronic its for the people lacking the skill and coordination to do the real thing

yes im the same.. i had a choice fro smg or strait manual in my 330ci msport.. i prefered manual because ill miss the third pedel.. plus the satisfaction of changing gears or getting that perfect downshift is amazing. plus i prefer no cheating? or handicaps.. whjatever you wanna control it. if computers control too much whats the point in driving? not that the smg or dsg is bad.. its great for track racing .. but its not long term for me. plus i heard it does break easily... costs alot

yeap.. DSG is the best sequential box in the world.. still i prefeer (for now) an old manual... mainly because im in total control

no the point of the ad was to show that it goes without you doing anytthing... it keeps going like the kid, as if there was no gear change but obviously it is. downshifting is amazin you dont even notice it changed.. its so smooth... where as doing it manualy is hard to get it perfect it will always jerk.
