Description: This video was taken at the Trinidad and Tobago Computer Society (TTCS ; http://ttcsweb.org/) tech meeting on Sunday April 20th, 2008. The meeting was our attempt to try Johnny Chung Lee's project "Low-Cost Multi-point Interactive Whiteboards Using the [Nintendo Wii] Wiimote". Visit Johnny Lee's website at http://www.johnnylee.net/ for more details. Part I (this video) is a presentation by Mike Tikasingh showing how the infra-red pens were made. Part II is a presentation by Paul Worswick showing how the Nintendo Wii Remote was connected to a Windows PC wirelessly using Bluetooth. He then showed how to use the infra-red pen to turn a computer screen projected on a wall to create a interactive whiteboard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0eF-ejMXOI Part III shows the practical use of the infra-red pen and the Wiimote to create a interactive whiteboard from the computer screen projected on a wall and then on a computer screen projected on a table. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lT_HkU_jAIk

Great job, I've been doing a lot of research, I was wondering, should I get a capacitor just for safe measure?
Multiply that by 2 for for two pens, and you come up with almost the same price that we paid.
Coffee thing? The only thing that is next to the LED is a tantalum capacitor - you can get them at Radio Shack if you are in North America, or just hunt round electronics parts places. You can also use other capacitors, but they are physically bigger, so they are not as convenient. Tantalum capacitors are also more accurate (not really a factor here) and also more expensive.
The world does NOT run on US currency - I'll make it simple for you - 150 of our dollars is about 20 of yours. Try to remember that everything in the caribbean that is technology hardware has to be imported, and that adds to the cost - if you can get it for 5 dollars, I am happy for you - go to it.
@Frankfurtxxl - yes, we had a Wii connected so that we could play afterwards!
the wii mote only cost 30 bucks so total cost would be about $35 idiot
I just built mine like an hour ago, the total cost for $9.36
ì hear a wii in the background
@ Brenzil: $150 for both pens? You can get all that shit for under $5! you forgot about the wii mote dork...
please ... would you like to say me what is the exactly name of the coffee thing that is near to the LED.
Thats $150 TT (Trinidad and Tobago dollars). The exchange rate is roughly $6.3 TT to 1 US dollar which works out to about $24 US
$150 for both pens? You can get all that shit for under $5!
Video quality is decent. Might want to put the presentation itself up on scribd, or similar site.
