I'm no sports fan and I love it whenever I watch the news and see asshole "fans" getting the shit beat out of them by the police. It's the ONLY time I root for the police. Even better is seeing cocky white guys getting pummeled by black athletes who they target and taunt. Uncivilized people on drugs and booze--liquid courage--looking for an excuse to act like idiots and they get what they deserve. Fuck 'em! LOL

why would you even put police in such an antagonistic position? why line them up then charge them at rioters? thats not going to minimise harm done to peaceful fans, rioters, police, the stadium's property...its only going to cause more suffering

If you've ever been in that situation you wouldn't be so coy about it. If you want to simply leave they won't let you (understandably for their safety), they taunt and go far over the top. So you're stuck there, getting riled up by them with no way to leave apart from through them. After 15 minutes it's enough, you do anything you can to get out of there.

If they hadn't been, you know, rioting, maybe it wouldn't have gone down as such
